I clearly did not do my research when I thought Niagara Falls would be all about water fall. With it being water falls, I thought this would be scenic, nature orientated place.
Yes, the Falls are beautiful, although not as impressive as I thought. And yes, I do know it’s not all about the size. It’s about the volume of water traveling through it. I know.
Still, I was expecting a hike, blending with nature, just to be able to view the Falls. Yet the waterfall is in the middle of the tacky town. Overridden with tourists, filled with haunted houses, laser tags, casinos and cheap restaurants.
Rainbow Bridge, stretched over the river like a thin ribbon connects two countries. From the bridge you can catch a glimpse of the Falls, but your eyes are immediately drawn towards neon flashing lights of the soulless town.
At night coloured lights play on the Falls. Another pointless human invention, which quite frankly ruins Mother’s Nature design.
The money-making machine invites you to see the Falls from different angles. There’s USA view, there’s Canadian view, air view, river view (highly entertaining, change of clothes recommended!), Sky Wheel view (nerve wrecking, if you’re scared of heights), street point view, caves view, and so on. It’s up to you, how much money and time you want to spend.
Sorry Mother Nature, we have stabbed you in the back.
